My year in music

I know I’m quite late with this blogpost, but hey it’s still January so I think it’s OK. 2018 has been a great year when it comes to new music. Loads of great new albums came out, I went to a couple of amazing concerts and I’ve added quite a lot of records and CDs to my collection. Hence why I really want to share my 2018 in music with you.

First off is Ariana Grande, because let’s be real here. 2018 was kinda her year. Not only did she release a new album; Sweetener, she also released to more amazing singles that’ll be on her next album – which will release in 2019. I loved every single song she has brought out last year – except maybe The Light is Coming… She is such a great singer and her music is just fantastic.

Another artist that brough out a new album is Justin Timberlake. It’s been a long while since we last had new music from JT, but he did it again with Man of The Woods. And I know that it has been labeled as the worst album of 2018, but I simply don’t agree. I love the album, and I love that Justin has done something completely different. I think it’s a great album, I went to his concert last year and it was amazing live as well.

Next up is Shawn Mendes with his self-titled album. One of my most anticipated releases last year, and oh my it did not disappoint. I think it’s such a diverse album, I love every single song on it and I can not wait to go to Shawn’s concert this year. In like two months I think, so yay!

The last big release of 2018 – at least for me – was Origins by Imagine Dragons. This album came a bit out of the blue near the end of the year. To be honest, I wasn’t really sure about it after my first listen. But after a couple of times of hearing it, I started loving it more and more and more. It’s so good.

Then there are a couple more albums that I really liked. Such as Youngblood by 5SOS, High As Hope by Florence + The Machine, Voicenotes by Charlie Puth, Know by Jason Mraz and Cool like you by Blossoms. As well as singles that I absolutely loved. You can find a mixture of everything in this playlist:

I can not wait to see what 2019 is going to bring us in terms of new music. A new album by Ariana Grande yet again, that is for sure and I’m super psyched about that. Besides that, I also really hope for some new music from Coldplay, John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, BeyoncĂ©, The Weeknd and Lianne La Havas.

What did you listen to in 2018?
