Lately, I’ve really been working hard on my Instagram, or Bookstagram as everyone calls it now. And I’ve been loving it. Photography is something that I’ve always loved, and combining that with my love for books is just awesome. I feel like over the last couple of months I’ve really improved. I tried some new things and I’ve just come with a new theme. Obviously, it can always be better, but right now I’m quite satisfied with my feed. It may sound silly but Bookstagram has really become important in my life. When first it was blogging that took up all my time, now that has shifted to Instagram.
And it’s not just time, I happen to find myself buying certain things just for Instagram. Hell, I’m even knitting a scarf right now so that I can use it in Bookstagram pictures (to be fair, that is not the only reason, but still). I feel like I’m a bit obsessed right now, but on the other hand, is that such a bad thing? I enjoy doing it so much and I also feel like it’s rewarding. I can’t believe that I now have over 2000 followers. I mean, imagine that number of people in a room… that wouldn’t even fit. It’s insane. And I know that there are accounts that have way more, but hey Rome wasn’t built in a day right?! I just enjoy posting, interacting and also growing.
Speaking of interacting, that is one of the nicest things about Bookstagram. I feel like Instagram can be quite a fake place, where it is all about see and be seen, but – at least in my opinion – Bookstagram is a bit more genuine. There are so many nice people on there. It’s a place of like-minded people, a place where you can find friends. And that is one of the main reasons I love it so much. Everyone is so sweet. And when I get comments, direct messages or even shoutouts from other bookstagrammers complimenting my posts it just warms my heart.
A thing that I’ve started doing to spread the love is doing a ‘Bookstagram of the day’ on my story. Where I basically just share the picture that stood out the most that day. To be honest, I haven’t been doing this each day, but I do do it when I remember it. And I guess that is what Bookstagram is all about. No competition, but just sharing the love. There are so many bookstagrammers that make the most gorgeous photos. So, in this post, I also wanted to share some love, by sharing a couple of accounts that I love the most.
There are a lot more accounts that I adore, but this post would be endless if I would mention them all. So instead, I might do more of these posts. We’ll see. For now, I just want to say that Bookstagram to me feels so nice and warming and I’m really glad that I decided to join in on the fun.
